Stipes Report
The start of this race was delayed due to the reasons stated in the Starters' report below. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) During the loading process VICTOR RAIL (*D Ramkhalawon) became restless and kicked the back gates. This gelding was released from the stalls, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and subsequently withdrawn. b) HAMILTON HERO (*D D Louw), GRAND FORCE (*D Pillay) and PURPLE POWAHOUSE (S Veale) lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED (DM) : a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. b) Shortly after the start HAMILTON HERO (*D D Louw) was bumped by GRAND FORCE (*D Pillay) which jumped in. As a consequence, GRAND FORCE (*D Pillay) lost position. c) TIME IN PARIS (C Murray) commenced to hang in from the 300m. In view of this report, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) CAPPELLINO (C Habib), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer D W Moore acting on behalf of Trainer W Whitehead was advised (MM). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) Nil. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) Nil. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED : a) TIME IN PARIS : Not striding out left hind. SCRATCHINGS : a) VICTOR RAIL : Injured in stalls (withdrawn by the Veterinary Surgeon at 16h47, 33/1 in the betting).
