THE STARTER REPORTED:  
a)	SHADOWBREAK (M Mjoka) was difficult and stubborn to load. Assistant Trainer T Crawford was advised to re-school this gelding. 
   
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED :
a)	Shortly after the start, GOLD ENSIGN (C Habib) and DUKE OF ROCK (T Godden) came together and bumped on two occasions. As a result, GOLD ENSIGN (C Habib) was squeezed out. 
b)	PATH TO FREEDOM (J Gates) raced green. 
c)	The saddle on JESSIE BAY (*D Geerthsen) slipped backwards in the running. This was confirmed by the Veterinary Surgeon. 
d)	Apprentice R Venniker (SLIM JANNIE) briefly dropped her right side rein in the concluding stages.  
e)	SLIM JANNIE (*R Venniker), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer M L Roberts advised (NS).
