Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) CHARA SANDS (*R Venniker) reared in the stalls, removed, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and was withdrawn. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) In view of the Starter's report with regard to CHARA SANDS (*R Venniker), this gelding's starting stall certificate is withdrawn and it is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as it proves tractable with a companion. Suspension dates: 14.02.22 to the 20.02.22. CHARA SANDS may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer M Roberts was advised. (SL) b) Shortly after the start, PATH TO FORTUNE (S Moodley) was carried out by IMPARTIAL (S Veale) which jumped outwards leaving the stalls. c) Jockey K de Melo reported that he felt something amiss with ALFONSA SPAGONI in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) WE ALL CHOMIES (D De Gouveia) took a number of awkward strides in the running. Thereafter, Jockey D De Gouveia reported that he felt something amiss with WE ALL CHOMIES. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) In the concluding stages, COUNT MARSH (*S Sosibo) had to switch in to avoid running onto the heels of WE ALL CHOMIES (D De Gouveia) which was not persevered with from the 200m. f) FAUSTINO (*K A Brewer), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer K Naidoo advised (LB). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) COUNT MARSH raced without blinkers (advised 13.02.22/8h05). b) PHINDA MZALA raced unshod (advised 08.02.22/13h17). c) ALFONSA SPAGONI Jockey K de Melo weighed out at 54.3kg, 0.5kg over the carded weight of 53.5kg. d) WE ALL CHOMIES Jockey D De Gouveia weighed out at 54.2kg, 0.5kg over the carded weight of 53.5kg.
