Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) HOT PEARL (C Habib) was restless in the stalls. Thereafter fly-jumped leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) TREAD SWIFTLY (M Yeni) and SMORGASBORD (C Maujean) were squeezed out shortly after the start. b) Leaving the 400m HOPE IS POWER (*S Sosibo) was carried out marginally by PROUD MASTER (S Veale) which was switched out off the heels of HOT PEARL (C Habib) to obtain a clear run. c) At the 250m KUPHOLIWE (T Godden) was brushed out by WINTER WAVES (A Mgudlwa) which was switched out to avoid running onto the heels of ANDY COOGLE (*B Plaatjies). d) In view of the performances of DIANI (S Khumalo) (11.35 lengths, 11/2 in the betting) and HOT PEARL (C Habib) (18.55 lengths, 33/1 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) PROUD MASTER (S Veale), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
