THE STARTER REPORTED: a) ROY TAKING OFF (S Hlengwa) lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) At the 1100m BEAUTIFUL RANIA (M Yeni) was steadied, and then this filly clipped the heels of I'M DEVINE (R A Venniker) and stumbled badly, losing position. Thereafter for a short distance Jockey M Yeni steadied his mount under the impression that something may be amiss with BEAUTIFUL RANIA (M Yeni). An Inquiry will be opened into this incident. b) Approaching the 800m Jockey R A Venniker, under the impression that something may be amiss with I'M DEVINE shifted out carrying GINGER DELIGHT (C Zackey) outwards and did not persevere with her ride. Thereafter on the latter part of the turn Jockey Venniker eased I'M DEVINE out of the race. c) GINGER DELIGHT (C Zackey), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer N Roscoe acting on behalf of Trainer D Kannemeyer advised (DZ). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) Nil. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) Nil. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED : a) BLUSH OF DAWN : Laceration left front. b) I'M DEVINE : Cut into right hind tendon. Humanely euthanised. Specimens taken for analysis.
