a)	Shortly after the start IBHELE (S Veale) was carried out by LIGHTNING JIMMY (C F Dicken) which jumped out. 
b)	Leaving the 400m BLESS ME FRED (*M Mbuto) and NDAKA (*D Pillay) were carried in by IBHELE (S Veale) which commenced to hang in. Thereafter, in the concluding stages TRAFALGAR SQUARE (*K J Lihaba), which had come to the end of its run, was steadied in anticipation of being awkwardly placed on the heels of IBHELE (S Veale) which continued to hang in. 
c)	Apprentice J Botes (BOOM SHAKALAKA) and Jockey S Moodley (ANDY COOGLE) reported that he felt something amiss in the running with their respective mounts. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. 
d)	In view of the performance of LIGHTNING JIMMY (C F Dicken) (16.90 lengths, 40/1 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. 
e)	In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report concerning ANDY COOGLE, and in terms of Rule 93.1, this gelding is suspended for 60 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority. Trainer K Naidoo will be advised. (Suspension dates : 13.01.2025 - 13.03.2025 bdi).
f)	NORTHERN WARRIOR (R A Venniker), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer M L Roberts was advised (DZ).
