Stipes Report

En-route to the start NORTHERN WARRIOR (R A Venniker) cast the right front shoe, which was attended to by the course farrier. This gelding was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and passed suitable to race. This caused a delay to the start of the race.

THE STARTER REPORTED:  
a)	A fair start.
  
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED :
a)	At the 500m WARRIOR OF ROYALTY (M Yeni) which was brushed in by SMORGASBORD (D Daniels), was steadied to avoid the heels of WAR EMPRESS (D Schwarz).
b)	Apprentice B Plaatjies (LINKIN NAVIGATOR) did not persevere with his riding from the 500m. Thereafter Apprentice Plaatjies reported this gelding did not stride out freely in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. 
c)	SMORGASBORD (D Daniels), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer D C Howells was advised (SS).
